KatuParkki accessibility statement

KatuParkki Technologies Oy is committed to making its digital services accessible in accordance with the Finnish Act on the Provision of Digital Services (306/2019) and the European Accessibility Act (Directive 2019/882).

This statement was prepared on the basis of a self-assessment carried out by the KatuParkki frontend team.

1. Compliance status

The KatuParkki mobile application is partially conformant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 level AA and the relevant mobile clauses of EN 301 549 v3.2.1. The items listed under Known limitations below are either not yet fully conformant or rely on user-enabled accessibility settings.

2. Adaptive accessibility features

The following adaptations activate automatically based on system accessibility settings or on an in-app preference (Settings → Accessibility). With default settings they remain inactive so the experience matches the standard interface.

• High-contrast status colours — success, warning, and error indicators meet a 4.5:1 contrast ratio against the background.
• Dynamic type up to 200% — key screens reflow with relaxed layouts when the OS Larger Text setting is enabled.
• List-view alternative to the map — auto-enabled when a screen reader is active, or via the in-app accessibility preference.
• Reduced motion — animations are shortened or removed when the OS Reduce Motion setting is enabled.
• Enlarged touch targets — controls accept at least a 44 × 44 pt touch area, regardless of visible size.

3. Known limitations

• The map screen is the default surface for users without a screen reader or list-view preference. Screen-reader users land in the list view automatically; sighted users can opt in from Settings → Accessibility.
• Embedded payment flows (Adyen Drop-in, Stripe Payment Sheet) are provided by third parties; residual accessibility gaps depend on those vendors and are tracked separately.
• The iOS Live Activity widget has not yet been audited end-to-end against WCAG criteria.

4. Preparation of this statement

The statement is based on an internal audit of the React Native source against WCAG 2.1 levels A and AA, combined with manual walkthroughs using VoiceOver (iOS) and TalkBack (Android) on the critical journeys: account creation, zone selection, payment, parking confirmation, and session extension. Static lint rules block regressions in pull requests.
